Q: My motherboard needs P8 connector but your PSU doesn't provide the P8 connector, what can I do?
Server motherboard normally requires EPS12V (i.e. an 8 pin ATX +12V connector a.k.a. P8 connector), however some ATX motherboards also require EPS12V, the reason is because the motherboard supports Intel Pentium 4 Extreme Edition (dual core) CPU as it requires EPS12V. Type R 580W series does not provide 8 pin ATX +12V connector.
You can use HIPER Extender HLC-2M1P-15 to convert two Molex and one P4 into P8 connector.
Products that originally include P8 connectors are: HPU-4M530 V3, HPU-4M580, HPU-4M630, HPU-4M670, HPU-4M730, HPU-4M780, HPU-4M880, HPU-5K680, HPU-5B680, HPU-5M730, HPU-5K770, HPU-5K880, HPU-5B880.
