 HDCP
High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP), is a newer form of Digital Rights Management (DRM) developed by Intel that protects digital video and audio content across DVI or HDMI from eavesdropping. Another major purpose is that it disallows non-HDCP compliant devices to receive High-definition content, i.e. when a High-definition video (e.g. over 480p) is being played on a non-HDCP compliant player or being displayed on non-HDCP monitor, the bandwidth of the video will be forced to be displayed at 480p.
